New Bed...

We got a new bed a few weeks ago. Our first king sized one. I can't believe how much bigger a king is than a queen. I spent hours (really, I think we were there for almost 4 hours!) at the store trying to decide on a bed since I know we will have it for a long time. I finally decided on this black sleigh bed. Quite a contrast to what my plans were. I went in there wanting white, I came out with black. But I really like it and have come to grips with the fact that we will not have a white bed. Going from a queen to king involves a lot more than just a new bed. A lot.
New sheets, new mattress pad, new comforter, new comforter cover. And new pillows - totally forgot that one. So not only do the people at the furniture store (headboard & foot board, mattress, sheets, mattress pad) love us so does JC Penneys (sheets, comforter, pillows) & Pottery Barn (comforter cover, fitted sheet to cover box spring - instead of a bed skirt).

Our new bed has pretty much changed the look of our master bedroom. You can see before pictures here. And the after below. Moved the Australia picture from another wall. I need to lower it but just haven't gotten to it.

This new dresser was also purchased with the bed. It is espresso, not black but I think it works. The 'B' used to be gold and used to be in the hallway. That's LM when she was a newborn, taken at the hospital.

The little reading area. The boat picture used to be over the bed. The chest used to be my nightstand.

The fireplace. I really need a bookcase! The fireplace and denim love seat are across from the bed and kind of look like another room. I need to work on tying them together. One day soon, I hope!

Close up of the bed. Small blue pillows from Target, shell pillow from Pottery Barn, bolster from Marshalls.
So that's it. The bed is super comfy and we both seem to be sleeping better. :)
Kelly @ Kelly's Korner is doing a fun 'show us where you live' series and this week was Master Bedrooms. I am a little late to the party but check it out-there are some beautiful rooms.

Your bed looks great and I have to tell you that I am pea green with envy over that fireplace. Oh to have one in the bedroom...well in this oh to have one!
