September Acres

I recently (finally) downloaded the pictures from my phone to my computer.  Over 600 of them.  I take a lot of pictures on that little phone and LOVE Instagram - all those filters!  I think the photos someone takes says a lot about a person.  Here's a little glimpse: Yummy Lemon Bars from the Food Network Magazine & Paula Deen.  Easy peasy and oh, so yummy! I take a lot of pictures of this guy.  And he's usually on the bed! The none to popular ham casserole.  VERY heavy with all those potatoes.  Good flavor but we'll save it for when we run the Iditarod next time. Morning quiet time with a book and some coffee. LM leaves for school at about 7:40am each day. Sometimes I take her and sometimes my friend E picks her up. Today she was ready to go at 7:19. She's usually ready fairly early but this was especially early for her. She decided to spend the time outside with Smokey and a tennis ball. Here's Smokey eagerly awating the ball being thrown. He often catches the ball in his mouth before it hits the ground. Very impressive. LM got a whistle at school and wanted to 'train' him to come to the whistle. Seems he prefers to come when he is called by name. Yes, she looks a bit like a ragamuffin here, right before leaving for school. Nothing a hairbrush can't fix...

Here is Smokey's new 'spot' during the day while I work. Luckily, I don't need a ton of leg room! We took Smokey to the vet yesterday. He is a big dog - 74.2 pounds! Montana was about 45 at her heaviest so this is a change for us. Our vet thought we made a good choice getting Smokey. So far we do, too.
