One down...


fifty (or so) to go. I mailed my first card today - to my cousin in Canada. I know those need to go early so I sent it today. The rest should be ready to go by the end of the week (I hope!)
This morning while getting ready for school Little Miss 'mentioned' that she has the 'worst life ever!' Why, you ask? She was getting dressed and wanted to wear her dress shoes to school today. I told her I didn't want her to wear them on the playground and besides, she has PE today. I suggested her Skechers and she twists up her face and says 'no, they are too tight and 'H' has them.' Well, apparently 'H' (who is her friend) is not as fashionable as some of the other girls in class. She continues, saying that 'M' has the best clothes & lots of 'glittery scarves' & 'straps' (I happen to know for a fact that 'M's mom spent $1000 on back to school clothes for her. Not gonna happen here. Am I just cheap?) And that's when she tells me that she has the 'worst life ever'. Now, I ask, is this clothing stuff supposed to start so early? What can I expect in middle school? I only have two words: SCHOOL UNIFORMS. Do you think that would help? I mentioned a while back that she doesn't want to wear some of her clothes she has. Well, the list is getting longer and longer. Ugh...

i haven't even begun christmas cards yet...this is the latest i've ever waited...i'm still trying to get out thank you notes from anna's birthday! and i think school uniforms are a great idea. anna goes to a private school and they DON'T have uniforms! who ever heard of that? i'm hoping they change soon because every parent i've ever spoken too says they wish they did have to wear uniforms...it would make it easier for everyone...anna's not wanting to wear hairbows, and wants to wear lipgloss every day...2nd grade sister! can you believe it? have a blessed weekend!

No, you are not cheap. Think back to when you got clothes for school, I bet it wasn't as much as kids get today. I'm so for uniforms, but the parents at our school are against it. I have friends with kids at uniform schools and the LOVE it. It just makes sense. Sam is a little tom boy so the clothing hasn't been an issue yet, but I'm sure it will. Yikes :0)

I've never been one to keep a journal or diary (as we called it back in the 70's).  I had a diary in grade school but wrote in it only sporadically.  It was one of those cute little ones with a lock and key that were so popular back in the day. Easter Deals, Ideas & Fun Stuff - 4/11/17

~I just finished reading 'The One & Only' by Emily Giffin .  I've read all her books except her newest one ('First Comes Love') and I think 'The One & Only' is my favorite so far. I highly recommend it. I am excited to dig into 'First Comes Love' soon. ~Easter is Sunday and I know most of us are knee deep in preparation. *One of our family traditions is making these sticky buns for Easter morning.  I usually only make them on Christmas and Easter as they are pretty rich and I want them to be a treat.  Kind of how my Grandma made ebelskiver's for us when we were little - we wanted them everyday but she made them on rare occasion and everyone of her grandchildren remembers how special they were.
