18 pairs of jeans...

Or is it 17? This is an update to my jeans post. The Lands End jeans are super cute & the perfect style but they didn't work (yet) - the 8 'plus' - toooooo big, the 7 'plus' -too big, the 7 regular- too tight. I am debating ordering the 8 regular but at this point I have spent more on shipping than what the jeans cost. My mom also got her a really cute pair at Kmart - 1st pair-too tight, 2nd pair - too big. I thought the 2nd pair might work - she put them on, they looked cute, looked like they fit, then she jumped rope and they started falling down! Today it was 80 so I am wondering how much longer can she even wear jeans this season. All I can say is UGH - who thought this would be a full time job? :)


Today I bought 2 indoor house plants. Very small but cute. I haven't had house plants in years (read: since the last ones died). I thought I would give it a try again. I know this isn't rocket science but I hope I can keep them alive for a while. Right now I just have them in the plastic pot they came in but put those pots in these really cute pots I have. I hope to get to replant them this weekend. I know it is good to have plants inside so I have my fingers crossed on this one. In the past I have had luck with this type of plant. I even used to put the cuttings in glasses and when the roots sprouted I would pot them and have lots of plants. Since we moved to AZ it has been harder for me. I don't know if it's the dry air or what. Time will tell, I guess.
I am soooo happy that the weekend is here. This has been a really busy week so it is nice to have the break from the weekday chores, school and business. We have no plans :) except for a surprise birthday party for a friend tomorrow evening. They have kids our daughter's age so it's a family thing. My daughter is really excited to get to go and see her friends. They go to a different school so she doesn't see them much.
I am off the finish helping my daughter get ready for bed and watch TV with my hubby. I think I hear 'The Price is Right' in the background. Yippee! My all time favorite game show. A happy weekend to everyone...

I just bought my daughter Circo jeans from Target. They have that adjustable waist band thing and they were only $7 on sale! I also saw some cute jean capris at KMart that had a big stretchy sweatpants-kind-of-waistband, and I was tempted because those looked like they would be comfy around the middle. I have tons of problems with my daughter and any type of pants with a fly. I tend to stick to knit pants on her because of this! Or she has a few pairs with those big stretch waistbands that fit much better. Good luck! (and FYI: we can return our Land's End stuff at our local Sears, so at least you don't have to pay return shipping. They also have some stuff there for sale, although I'm not sure if I've ever seen jeans...)

Changes...

I posted some photos of my living room a while back. I realized how blah and boring it looks. I appreciate the suggestions I was given. One of them was 'paint'. We had the walls painted a couple years ago so I really didn't want to do it again just yet so I had to figure what else I could do to get some color in there. I thought about painting a canvas red to match the chair ( below). After talking to my sister she suggested dipping cool whip containers in paint to make the circles and an idea was born. I bought the 3 canvases (20" X 20") at Michaels at 50% off - the three cost $21. I got a quart of paint at Lowe's ($12 - Martha Stewart's Cranberry something or the other). The blue paint was a sample size of Olympic that someone didn't buy -$1. Cool whip container and little round container I had in the kitchen - free. Fleur de lis printed off computer, traced on canvas and painted - free. So for $34 I got this new look. Very David Bro

Monday, Monday...

Monday's are usually my favorite days. Everyone is back to work and school and I have the morning to gather my thoughts and eat a leisurely breakfast before starting my day. My friend, E, who I carpool with has her husband take the kids to school since he is off on Mondays. Today, however, has been a bit odd. We had a new dishwasher delivered this morning and my husband uninstalled the old one last night. This morning I wake up to a leak in one of the dishwasher hoses - thankfully just a slow leak but still an inconvenience. My husband had to come home and semi-install the new dishwasher to stop the leak. I have been washing the dishes in the wet bar sink instead of the kitchen sink since something is turned off there and the hubby said not to use it until the new dishwasher is totally installed. I am thankful to have a wet bar sink and not have to resort to washing the dishes in the bathroom - something I am sure we've all had to do at one time. I have some things in t
