Weather in my neck of the woods: Sunny in the 80's

One of my simple pleasures: A quiet walk on the beach.

On my bedside table: "First things first" by Kurt & Brenda Warner, "Finding it" by Valerie Bertinelli. I finally finished 'Twilight'.

On my TV: nothing

On the menu for tonight: steak kabobs, broccoli, salad

On my to do list: change sheets, make reservations for the dog to go to the kennel this weekend, make appt to get oil changed, work in office

New Recipe I tried last week: none

In the craft basket: nothing right now

Looking forward to: Going to Las Vegas this weekend.

Homemaking tip of the week: Clean your microwave easily: put some water and white vinegar in a cup (microwave safe) and set the microwave for about 2-3 min. When you are done you should be able to wipe the inside clean. You can also use lemon juice/water or just plain water.

Favorite Blog post of the week: This one about how Halloween has gone crazy!

Favorite photo of the week: Guess who's ready for LM to go back to school on Monday? Guess who else wants LM to get a baby sister? I call this one 'why dogs bite'. Seriously, Smokey has been a good sport all week. Smokey is a boy, by the way.

Lesson learned the last few days: follow your gut instinct. You will rarely be wrong.

I've never been one to keep a journal or diary (as we called it back in the 70's).  I had a diary in grade school but wrote in it only sporadically.  It was one of those cute little ones with a lock and key that were so popular back in the day. Easter Deals, Ideas & Fun Stuff - 4/11/17

~I just finished reading 'The One & Only' by Emily Giffin .  I've read all her books except her newest one ('First Comes Love') and I think 'The One & Only' is my favorite so far. I highly recommend it. I am excited to dig into 'First Comes Love' soon. ~Easter is Sunday and I know most of us are knee deep in preparation. *One of our family traditions is making these sticky buns for Easter morning.  I usually only make them on Christmas and Easter as they are pretty rich and I want them to be a treat.  Kind of how my Grandma made ebelskiver's for us when we were little - we wanted them everyday but she made them on rare occasion and everyone of her grandchildren remembers how special they were. Every year I write about candy-free Easter basket filler ideas.
