Valentine...

I have set out a few Valentine's decorations this year. First, behind my kitchen sink I have this little counter which gives me space for some decoration. I dug up this frame that we got as a wedding gift and thought it would look nice with something Valentine-y. So I hunted through my scrapbook stuff and found the paper and chipboard numbers (painted pink). I cut out the love and heart with my cricut. I thought it turned out cute. The copper 'love' cookie cutters come out every year although I have yet to use them as cookie cutters.
On the dining room table I place the red vase (that I 'borrowed' from my sister) next to the red stones (Pier one) & clear hearts (Terri's village). The chalkboard plate I made after spotting this in the Pottery Barn Catalog. I bought the plate at Kmart for $3.75 and painted the center with chalkboard paint and I think I have a decent replica - and I saved oddles of money!

Looks great. I saw the same chalkboard plate in the PB catalog and thought "I could so do this myself" I have the perfect platter just collecting dust, so I just might have to bust out my chalkboard paint :0)

I've never been one to keep a journal or diary (as we called it back in the 70's).  I had a diary in grade school but wrote in it only sporadically.  It was one of those cute little ones with a lock and key that were so popular back in the day. Easter Deals, Ideas & Fun Stuff - 4/11/17

~I just finished reading 'The One & Only' by Emily Giffin .  I've read all her books except her newest one ('First Comes Love') and I think 'The One & Only' is my favorite so far. I highly recommend it. I am excited to dig into 'First Comes Love' soon. ~Easter is Sunday and I know most of us are knee deep in preparation. *One of our family traditions is making these sticky buns for Easter morning.  I usually only make them on Christmas and Easter as they are pretty rich and I want them to be a treat.  Kind of how my Grandma made ebelskiver's for us when we were little - we wanted them everyday but she made them on rare occasion and everyone of her grandchildren remembers how special they were. Every year I write about candy-free Easter basket filler ideas.
